Volkswagen has given us a preview of what its future performance models could look like, with the unveiling of the ID X Performance.
The super saloon is based on the upcoming ID 7 model, of which a 'hotter' GTX variant will be available.
The ID X Performance turns everything up by a few more notches. It has a power output of 558PS, making it more potent than a BMW i4 M50, and is lowered by 60mm with performance-tuned suspension.
VW introduced its GTX performance moniker for ID vehicles in 2021, with the launch of the ID 4 GTX. There is also an ID 5 GTX. Both use a twin motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain.
At the Munich motor show, the car brand unveiled the ID GTI, a concept version of its first electric GTI model.
Based on the upcoming ID 2 hatchback, the ID GTI incorporates styling cues from the original Golf GTI.
