Essential Fleet Services has announced that it has appointed Ed Hummel as commercial director.

Hummel joins  from EurotaxGlass’s, a provider of automotive data and intelligence, where he held the role of managing director.

Hummel has previously worked in sales leadership roles with several automotive organisations including Honda, Volkswagen and Ford.

Essential  is a Lincoln-based contract hire and leasing company backed by private equity investors, Endless LLP.

Essential has operations spanning the North West, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the South East, and has a turnover of approximately £43 million.

Ray O’Toole, chief executive at Essential Fleet Services, said: “We’re very pleased Ed has decided to join us.
