Vokswagen is expanding the Mk8 Golf line-up with the introduction of a new estate model and an Alltrack 4x4.

Expected to go on sale in early 2021, the new Golf Estate will feature a longer wheelbase providing more load space and improved legroom for passengers.

At 4.6 metres, the Golf Estate is 66mm longer than its predecessor. Boot space grows to 611 litres with the rear seats in place and 1,642 litres with the seats folded.

In line with the Golf 8 hatchback, the UK trim structure for the new Golf Estate will consist of Life, Style and R-Line.

A 10-inch screen infotainment screen will be fitted as standard, alongside Travel Assist.

There’s no word on engines or pricing yet, but we’d expect the newcomer to feature the same range of mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines as the Golf hatch.

The Golf Alltrack features 4Motion all-wheel-drive, has an increased ground clearance and stands out with plastic exterior cladding. VW says it will be capable of towing a 2,000Kg trailer.
