Marc Samuel has resigned from his role as fleet sales operations manager at Honda Motor UK.

He has held the position for two years, overseeing a total restructure of the brand’s fleet service offering.

Honda UK issued a statement saying: “Marc Samuel will be leaving the business in the coming months for pastures new."

Phil Webb, head of car at Honda UK, will assume the responsibility for the fleet sales operations team.

In March, the brand was named Most Improved Fleet Manufacturer of the Year at the Fleet News Awards.

Its Platinum Programme was launched to encourage the Honda dealer network to interact with company car drivers by offering test drives and aftersales services, giving a first-class customer experience from the moment they first interact with the brand.

Dealer principals, sales managers and sales advisors were trained to “talk the language of fleet”, ensuring they understand the needs of fleet customers and can answer all enquiries.

Additionally, Honda's virtual account manager programme enables time-stretched fleet managers with smaller fleets to make enquires through digital channels.

Recently, Samuel told Fleet News the company would be focusing more on profitable core fleet business and moving away from higher-cost tactical sales.
