The first 11 Picnics have already been supplied by local dealer Hamer Toyota. A further 17 are on order for delivery by March 2000 and the fleet size could rise to 100. The fleet will be provided on a two-year full contract hire arrangement through Corporate & Business Vehicle Contracts. Eleven nurseries have already been opened and a rapid expansion is planned with 60 more expected to start up over the next three years. Each has about 25 staff and capacity for 100 children, with one or more of the new Toyota Picnic 2.2-litre GS turbodiesels based at each centre.
