JOHN Prescott's Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions saw big changes in the recent Government reshuffle, with eight of the Deputy Prime Minister's ministerial team being replaced. Big-name departures include Glenda Jackson (resigned), Alan Meale (sacked), Dick Caborn (moved) and Helen Liddell (moved).

Among those coming in are former shipyard worker Lord Macdonald of Tradestoun as Prescott's deputy, Beverley Hughes (junior environment and transport minister) and Nick Raynsford (minister of state from junior minister in the DETR).
