CHEVIN Computer Systems will launch its new FleetWave fleet management software system next week.

FleetWave is an internet/intranet-based system and claims advantages over conventional desktop PC or mainframe-based software systems.

Chevin managing director Ashley Sowerby said: 'Perhaps the most significant advance is FleetWave's 'active' structure, which automatically gathers in one place all the information managers need, at the same time freeing them from the drudgery of having to input the data.

'We are talking about saving hours each week as other departments, suppliers, contractors and even individual drivers can feed in their own data.

'Then authorised departments or individuals can draw off their own reports, further reducing demands on managers' time and giving them back their freedom to manage.'

The system has been developed with working fleets and companies such as Cadbury Schweppes, Platinum Fleet Management and Murfitts have switched to the system.
