ROAD rage could rocket on London's streets following the launch of congestion charging, a risk management and driver training company has warned.

Graham Hurdle, managing director of Pro-Drive, claims the first few weeks of the charge will breed confusion and frustration among motorists. He said: 'There will be drivers who do not wish to pay the charge and, realising they are heading into the charging zone, attempt to reverse out of a junction, pull over without warning, or perform a U-turn. This will antagonise other drivers as well as having obvious road safety implications.'

The company warns that there will also be drivers whose stress levels will rise when they attempt to find a parking space outside the zone, particularly if this causes them to run late for an important meeting.
