THERE is much more to Jaguar than a range of cars and its website has been designed to get this message across with style, as befits one of the world’s most aspirational motoring brands with a heritage to match. The site does its best to marry the core elements of tradition and modernity that Jaguar champions in its model range.

Predominantly silver-grey and black in colour, the site has a gravity that sets it apart from the light and fluffy direction taken by other carmakers (see Honda, Citroen, Ford).

Its layout takes it in different directions too, with a homepage you navigate from tabs at the top of the page. To see the sub-menus, mouse over each of these headings.

The Vehicle section shows a particular flair for encompassing all that the web can offer above print media.

Each model is outlined in comprehensive detail across the ranges with top-quality images that you can enlarge.

While this is impressive, it is the attention to detail beyond the metal for which Jaguar deserves praise. Users can easily request email newsletters, model updates and brochures. The finance options available can be checked in the Finance Your Jaguar section.

An excellent dealer locator goes beyond the run-of-the-mill address list. A UK map shows in one click the dealers in the big cities or put in a postcode or town name to locate dealer or repair centre.

The wackiest feature is each dealer having its GPS co-ordinates for those with GPS navigation systems.

The locator for used stock is equally comprehensive and superbly presented, allowing a detailed search by model, derivative, transmission, price, age, colour and spec.

The site also impresses with its attention to detail to areas that could easily have been ignored. There’s an excellent history of the company, a careers section and information on each of Jaguar’s sites.
