TELEMATICS company Masternaut has launched an e-mail service that provides daily reports on the exact movements of any vehicle, including arrival and departure times from sites.

The service is a feature of the web-based Masternaut fleet information service that shows the real-time movements of vehicles on maps displayed on the internet.

It is aimed at companies with transport operations which need accurate records of timekeeping and vehicle use. Daily, weekly and monthly reports show actual fleet utilisation and service performance for comparison against planned schedules and service performance obligations.

In addition, the electronic timesheets provide an instant check for payroll and overtime.

Masternaut links to satellite navigation, tachographs and electronic driver ID to provide the information, giving positions every 30 seconds. It is provided as a monthly fee for around £2 per vehicle per day.

'All that is required is a PC to access the web and receive the e-mail reports,' said Martin Port, Masternaut's UK managing director.
