THE cost of entering London has increased this week.

Charges for company cars participating in the fleet registration scheme increase from £5.50 to £7 and for general use the daily cost has risen from £5 to £8.

Executives at leasing company Masterlease have criticised the increase, saying their fleet customers feel penalised ‘from every angle’ for having to drive for business in London.

Head of service delivery Kim Noble said: ‘However, there are some positives for the fleet industry. The fleet automated scheme is now much more accessible with fleets with as few as 10 vehicles able to take part and it is offering significant discounts for registered vehicles that pay monthly or annually.

‘For £10 per vehicle per year, fleets can pre-register their vehicles as part of the fleet scheme and this means they are exempt from late payment or penalty charges.’
