HONDA is offering fleet buyers a free technology upgrade to coincide with the launch of its revamped Accord range.

Buyers of SE and Sport versions will be given a free Bluetooth compatible hands-free mobile phone package which allows calls to be made or received by pressing a button on the steering wheel.

In addition, all other Accord models can be equipped with the hands-free kit in conjunction with voice-activated control of the satellite navigation, climate and stereo functions for £500 instead of the usual price of £1,400.

Stephen Hollings, head of corporate sales at Honda, said: ‘We have been listening to what fleets want and are reacting to this.

‘The voice-activation and hands-free phone systems combined increase driver safety and will also cut down on fleets’ mileages.

‘We want to make cars more attractive to user-choosers and fleet managers and also address their duty of care obligations.’

Honda expects a 60% take-up of the technology offers.

The new Accord range is available to order now, with prices starting at £17,030. There are minor revisions inside and out, as well as new technology such as a six-speed manual gearbox for the diesel versions and the option of Honda’s Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), which incorporates Lane Keep Assist, a device which alerts drivers if they drift out of their lane, and adaptive cruise control.

  • HONDA has released prices for its new Civic Hybrid. The car, featuring a petrol engine and an electric motor, will cost from £16,300. The Hybrid offers combined economy of 61.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 109g/km.
