BUILT on a common platform, the Scudo, Expert and Dispatch vans bridge the gap in the market between the car-sized van and the short-wheel-base one tonne sector.

The range is eminently practical with six doors, very manoeuvrable for urban work and – if the right engine is chosen – plenty of grunt for longer trips. Front wheel drive means the maximum possible load capacity in the back and also opens up opportunities for specialist conversions for wheelchair access, for example.

The cabin offers a high degree of comfort and were the first small vans that could carry three people. With a driver and two work mates, it means extra manpower per trip or put another way the opportunity for an extra eight man-hours from one van.

The family’s success has translated easily to the secondary market and demand has seen examples snapped up at auction by both the trade (who see a great retail opportunity) and non-trade buyers alike. Buyers chase examples with the powerful 2.0 HDi engine and particularly the models fitted with the optional dual passenger seat.

Buyers like examples in good condition, ideally with metallic paint and a decent quality of ply-lining. Fridge variants are also much sought after by professional buyers at auction, but are exceptionally scarce.
