The decline in the number of new cars registered to fleets became more pronounced last month.

The number of new cars going into large fleets fell by 29%, while the numbers registered to small fleets – those with less than 25 vehicles – fell by 44% in November.

Year to date figures reveal that there has been a massive fall in fleet registrations so far in 2008, with 101,493 fewer new cars going to lease and rental companies and businesses that register vehicles directly.

However, fleet registrations still account for 1,169,801 of the 2,023,104 new cars so far sold this year.

Van registrations last month also suffered – they were down 46.9% for the month and down 12.3% for the rolling year.
