The Ministry of Defence is to trial an in-built driver risk assessment tool in a project involving around 2,000 drivers.

The test will involve GreenRoad Technologies’ Safety Centre system, a device which collects information on 120 driving manoeuvres, being fitted to a broad cross-section of the MoD’s common user vehicle fleet, which includes cars, minibuses, ambulances and Land Rovers.

These are used on military bases by personnel from the Army, Navy and RAF.

Data from the six-month trial will be analysed to identify individual drivers’ risk levels.
