The chancellor Alistair Darling will deliver the Budget today just weeks before the general election.

He will make his Budget speech to the House of Commons at 12:30pm.

While this is an interim budget, as a second one will follow in the summer following the election, it may still hold some surprises.

There are still hopes that the increase in fuel duty next week may be delayed, while rumours persist of a rise in VAT and a possible increase in the higher rate income tax band.

All will be made clear this afternoon so log back onto this site for expert analysis of what Darling’s last Budget before the election will mean for dealerships and their employees, car sales and drivers.
