Online used car retailer Autoquake, which was established in 2005, has gone into administration.

A statement on the company’s website reads: “Please be advised that Matthew Bond and Jason Godefroy of MCR were appointed Joint Administrators of the Company on 17 March 2011.

“If you are a customer or supplier of the Company and have any queries, please direct these to the Company's call centre on 0844 800 9406, in the first instance.

“If you are interested in purchasing any of the assets of the Company including the Company's domain name and e-commerce platform, please contact MCR directly on 020 7487 7240.”

It had grown into one of the leading online sellers of vehicles and last year its website received more than five million visits

Reacting to the news, Manheim told Fleet News that it had no financial exposure to any of the activities of Autoquake.

In the case where Autoquake had been purchasing vehicles at auction for sale to its retail customers, Manheim had no unsettled invoices and in fact is currently in the process of remitting funds back to Autoquake for a limited number of vehicles sold at auction, which had been taken in part-exchange.
