Morrison Utility Services, which launched its green car scheme at the start of April, received more than 400 requests for quotations for the low CO2 vehicles from a range of manufacturers.

The scheme, which is provided by Zenith Provecta, is available to around 1,300 UK staff and their families and offers savings on a range of cars emitting less than 120g/km of CO2.

As well as cost savings, those taking up the offer are able to fix the cost of their motoring because insurance, maintenance and breakdown cover is all included.

A dedicated website has been set up for staff and their families to explore the available vehicles and obtain quotes.

Kevin Shiers, HR director, Morrison Utility Services, said: “Reducing CO2 emissions is a priority for us and as lower CO2 cars offer greater savings under a Salary Sacrifice scheme this is a perfect way to lower emissions and offer our employees a valuable benefit at the same time.

“We asked Zenith Provecta to run our scheme because of their expertise in the area. Their dedicated team is now working with us and advising our employees how they can best make use of the scheme.”
