The Board of Cybit Group Holdings has said that Martin Port, managing director of Masternaut UK, has left the company following the merger of Cybit and Masternaut’s UK businesses.

Masternaut UK will now be led by Steve Towe, managing director, Europe, reporting to Bill Henry, Masternaut Group CEO and the former chief executive of Cybit.

Martin Port founded the UK business in 2002 with hardware support and a licensed brand from Masternaut International based in France. On these foundations, he developed innovative software solutions that drove rapid growth of the UK business, which grew from two employees to 150, employed from Aberford, Leeds and Skipton in Yorkshire.

Masternaut became the UK’s largest B2B vehicle tracking company prior to its sale to Masternaut SAS (France) in 2010.

Port said: “We achieved tremendous success with a fantastic team of people and built a customer base to be envied by the competition.

“Under the new owners, the business can now capitalise on this foundation and make the investment required to create exciting new products that can take the Masternaut brand global and deliver a broader range of savings to our customers.”

Henry said: “On behalf of the team at the new Masternaut, I would like to sincerely thank Martin for what he has done to raise the profile of telematics and the benefits across industry and more recently for his support as we combined our two UK businesses.”
