Adapted Vehicle Hire (AVH) has opened a branch in Redditch giving disabled drivers and passengers access to adapted vehicles that will be specifically fitted with adaptations for their particular needs, for anything from a day, to a weekend to a few weeks.

The service is ideal for disabled motorists whose own vehicle is off the road for repairs or servicing, while a range of wheelchair accessible vehicles is also available for carers or family and friends who want to be able to take disabled people out for day trips or holidays.

“With the launch of our new Redditch branch, disabled people living and working across the West Midlands can get out and about with the ease and convenience able bodied individuals take for granted,” said Lorraine Farnon, managing director, AVH.

“Traditionally there has been limited supply of specialist vehicles for hire meeting the needs of disabled people. This new branch opening aims to tackle that challenge, offering a range of vehicles for short and long-term rental.

“We know that lack of mobility is a real issue amongst disabled people and it’s particularly an issue if looking to hire a vehicle for a short period of time. Having access to adapted cars and wheelchair accessible vehicles can, however, make a real difference to their lives.”

AVH offers a unique selection of vehicles, from compact city cars to larger 4x4s and its adaptations workshop ensures that every vehicle has the appropriate adaptations required for different disabilities.
