A fuel-saving technology for vans and minibuses that can deliver return on investment in just one month, according to Ashwoods, will be on display at LCV 2011.

EcoDrive+, from Ashwoods Automotive, provides 24/7 in-vehicle driver training, guiding drivers with real time instructions, to increase fuel efficiency. Initial trials with two fleets demonstrated that the system reduces fuel consumption by up to 30%, claim Ashwoods.

EcoDrive+ sends monthly or weekly reports that enable fleet managers to compare individual driver performance. Fleets can purchase EcoDrive+ already fitted to Transit and Transit Connect models from Ashwoods – or the system can be retrofitted to existing fleets.

Mark Roberts, managing Director of Ashwoods Automotive, said: “Ashwoods EcoDrive+ offers fleet operators and owner-drivers the opportunity to lower CO2 emissions, while also making a huge saving on fuel.

“It’s a simple system that works with the driver, doesn’t require huge investment and won’t be a drain on a fleet manager’s valuable time.”

Prices for a vehicle fitted with EcoDrive+ start from £11,995 and finance is available from £169 per month. A retrofit system starts at £250, plus a monthly subscription.

Ashwoods EcoDrive+ will be available for test drives at LCV 2011, which takes place at Rockingham race circuit near Northampton today (September 7) and tomorrow (September 8).
