From 19th January 2013 there are going to be important changes to Driving Licences that might well impact you and your drivers. Under the changes, for Part 1 Licences, there will be a standardised licence expiry date of 10 years. For Part 2 Vocational Licence holders, the expiry date will be 5 years.

More complex checking

What this means for you is checking your drivers’ licences will now become more complex, because if your drivers have to renew their licence or change any details on it, they’ll get the new-style licence.

So you could be checking up to three different formats of licences.

Also, when these renewals happen, your employees could lose some of their previous entitlements without them even knowing.

Which you definitely need to know about.
