Paul Boughton and Jim Warwick have joined Quartix as non-executive directors.

Both Boughton and Warwick have strong track records in international business development, and their experience and guidance will be invaluable for Quartix in continuing its expansion in the US market and elsewhere.

Quartix opened a new office in Chicago in April, and has secured orders from customers in 10 States since then. Sales and support staff are being recruited and trained and the company will complement this with a network of distributors. Development of the distribution network is set to begin early in the third quarter.

Boughton has over 25 years’ worth of experience in identifying, negotiating and completing acquisitions in the USA and Europe. He spent thirteen years as Business Development Director for Spectris and is currently Head of Business Development at Brammer, leading its European acquisition programme. He also held a main board position at Consort Medical and was Group Corporate Development Director at IMI, a FTSE100 company.

Jim Warwick is Chief Operating Officer at Abcam PLC, a global leader in the supply of innovative protein research tools. He originally joined Abcam as Technical Director, progressing to UK Managing Director in 2004 and Chief Operating Officer in 2009. Prior to that, he worked on IT, software and web development initiatives for telecommunications consultancy group Analysys Limited.

“We are delighted to welcome Paul and Jim to Quartix,” added managing director Andy Walters.

“They join us at an exciting time in the growth and development of our company.”
