Jaguar Land Rover is supplying a total of 135 vehicles as transport for the two-day NATO Summit in Newport.
The vehicles will be showcasing the company’s British design, engineering and manufacturing to the world.
As one of the UK's largest exporters, Jaguar Land Rover generates in the region of 85% of its revenue from exports. The business continues to invest significantly in the UK, including circa £3.5bn in its products and facilities in the financial year to March 2015.
@Mark Jennings, Those German manufacturers you mention employee more people in the UK and contribute more to the UK economy than JLR, Think about the size and scale of the UK footprint for BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, don't forget most of these manufacturers also produce Vans, Trucks & Buses. Yes JLR are a great advertisment for made in Britian in reality they are merely assembled in Britain, also note that JLR are now owned by the Indian company Tata so in reality whose country is being supported? Surely the support should be aimed at those who are contributing more to the economy rather than a perception of a histroic brand name?
@Bob - What nonsense! BMW has a good track record with its Mini and Hams Hall engine plants but what do the others make in the UK? All JLR's vehicles are designed and manufactured in the UK and Tata has invested far more in the company than Ford ever did. As a prime example, just look at the brand new engine plant that has sprung up alongside the M54 near Wolverhampton.
