8 VW ID.3

Volkswagen has revised the pricing and specifications for the ID3 line-up, with the entry-level model now available from £27,120 (inc grant).

Unlike the intial batch of ID3s, which came in pre-configured trim grades, the latest models can be customised with optional equipment.

Volkswagen has simplified the range structure: offering Life, Style, Family, Max and Tour models, along with four powerain options.

Under the new pricing, two more variants become eligible for the Government’s Plug-in Vehicle Grant – bringing the total to six – with the ID.3 Family Pro and Family Pro Performance now sitting under the £35,000 threshold for the £2,500 grant. These models, now priced at £33,640 and £34,960 respectively, fall to £31,140 and £32,460 OTR with the incentive applied.

Pure Performance models use a 45kWh battery and a 150PS electric motor, giving a range of 214-216 miles.

The Pro uses a larger 58kWh battery, providing a range of up to 264 miles. It develops 145PS.

Stepping up to the Pro Performance sees the same 58kWh battery paired with a 204PS motor.

There is also a long-range Tour Pro S, which uses a 77kWh battery for a range of 340 miles.

Optional equipment is spread across five packages, with each having an additional ‘Plus’ version. These are identified as Design, Infotainment, Comfort, Assistance and Sport.

All UK models are equipped with the Infotainment package and Comfort package as standard.

The Design package includes LED matrix headlights, interior ambient lighting with 30 colours, an illuminated light strip that runs between the headlights and the Volkswagen roundel, and tinted rear windows. The ‘Plus’ version adds a large panoramic sunroof 130cm long and over a metre wide.

The Infotainment package features Discover Pro navigation with a 10-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, DAB and two front USB-C sockets. The ‘Plus’ package adds an upgraded sound pack with subwoofer and augmented reality head-up display.

The Comfort package includes electrically folding and adjustable mirrors with projection light, automatically dimming rear-view mirror, rain sensor, heated seats and a heated steering wheel. ‘Plus’ adds two-zone climate control and a variable boot floor.

The Assistance package comes a rear view camera, keyless entry, and illuminated door handles. ‘Plus’ specification adds Travel Assist, Side Assist and Emergency Assist.

The Sport package brings progressive steering and sports suspension. The ‘Plus’ version adds Dynamic Chassis Control.

Style models are equipped with the Design Plus pack; Family models add Comfort Plus and Assistance; Max adds Infotainment Plus and Assistance Plus, along with Sport; while the Tour carries the Design package and three ‘Plus’ packages: Infotainment, Comfort and Assistance.
