epyx comment
This metric shows the time from when a fleet driver contacts a garage to book SMR and when the appointment occurs.
Before the pandemic, when our dataset begins in January 2020, the figure was 11.32 days – but increased in subsequent years, peaking at 14.20 days in September 2023.
Since then, we have seen what might be described as a fluctuating decrease, with the overall line trending downwards but far from linear. March’s 13.24 days sits towards the lower end of figures for the last year.
Our view is that despite improvements, workshops remain under considerable pressure with a range of issues persisting, ranging from post-pandemic supply problems to skills shortages and now, even the potential impact of global tariffs. None of these are likely to be resolved quickly.
