The XE is continuing to prove itself a more than capable company car.

Can driving on ‘eco’ mode really make much difference to fuel consumption? We put the theory to the test in our Jaguar XE, which has four driving modes: normal, eco, dynamic and rain/ice/snow.

It’s not been an auspicious start. Two days after taking delivery of the XE, and with 2,600 miles on the clock, a warning flashed on the display “diesel exhaust fluid quality detected”. I had 495 miles until the engine shut down.
