Sandicliffe Motor Contracts has been placed 107th in the latest Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250, which ranks Britain's leading private mid-market growth companies.

Its position in in the 11th annual listing is an improvement on last year's ranking of 126.

Based on sales and profit, the league table demonstrates how much mid-market businesses contribute to the UK’s economy

Together, the 250 mid-market companies have combined sales of £69 billion, generate operating profits of £4 billion and employ a total of 347,000 people.

Gary Benfield, managing director of Sandicliffe Motor Contracts, said: “To even feature in the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 is a great achievement, but for Sandicliffe to rank 107th is a truly fantastic accomplishment for the business and for the industry.

“As the business’s leasing and fleet management arm of the business we are delighted to see our contribution to the overarching Sandicliffe organisation having an impact.

“The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 is very much a cherry on top of a great year for Sandicliffe Motor Contracts; not only expanding our customer portfolio and increasing in fleet size but also growing our team and operations back at our head office in Long Eaton.”

Sandicliffe Motor Contracts sales director Phil Elms represented the company at the awards evening last week.

He said: “It was a real privilege to be sat side-by-side with recognisable brands such as Caffè Nero, Pret A Manger, McLaren Automotive and Solarcentury.

“We certainly aim to be back again next year where we can hopefully break into the top 100.”
