Schedule:
· 10am - 6pm (Monday to Friday). Work flexibility is required during training of staff etc.
The key responsibilities for the Transport Manager will be:
· Making sure vehicles are properly maintained and in a roadworthy condition
· Inspecting vehicles on a regular basis
· Arranging repairs and routine maintenance
· Ensuring that all drivers have the correct, up to date qualifications
· Ensuring that all drivers and vehicles meet EU & UK regulatory compliance
· Maintaining and completing accurate records, ensuring driver hours are compliant with EU & UK regulation
· Keeping schedules and organising team members
· Training, recruiting and managing drivers
· Weekly and/or daily meetings with company director
· Overall management of depot and vehicles (up to 10 vehicles)
· Driver rotas
· Vehicle allocations
· Debriefing drivers in jobs
· Liaising with drivers on a daily basis
· Effective scheduling of vehicle servicing, MOT, PMI's, servicing...etc
· Tachograph analysis, vehicle and driver downloads, producing compliance reports - general admin
· Providing customers with quotes/invoicing and liaising with suppliers to manage daily scheduling
· Must have basic computing skills
· Management of cleaning staff/drivers to ensure appearance of vehicles is of a high standard
· You will be managing an assistant manager who will assist you on your duties - training will need to be provided.
· Dealing with accidents, reviewing cctv footage and liaising with insurers.
· Managing contracts and invoicing
*The Successful Applicant*
· Previous experience as a Transport Manager, supervising and developing a team.
· Valid Transport Manager CPC is desirable in PSV/HGV
· Experience in using ‘Coach Manager’ software is desired but not mandatory
· Must have excellent communication skills
· Hands-on and proactive approach with a positive "can-do" attitude and team player
· Ideally, hold a Coach/Bus (Cat D) License
