Transport Manager, Senior Manager, Transportation, Customs UK & Rep. of Ireland

As Transport Manager, Senior Manager, Transportation be responsible for supporting the UK & Republic of Ireland organisation through the day-to-day management, development and implementation of best-in-class Transportation & Customs Services. You will report directly to the Transportation Director. 

As the Transport Manager, Senior Manager, Transportation you will be responsible for managing the current setup, cost and SLA performance but also to new strategic planning of the Customs activities (inhouse vs outsourced) and a new carrier portfolio. This should include the following elements

Align with the demand of the clients on their future strategy and needs.
Work closely with the carriers and Customs authorities to map out the required cost and performance in our network.
Create a roadmap to transition into the new setup.
The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have…

University degree (preferably in business or logistics, or equivalent professional training and education)
Experience in a management position in a Senior Transportation and/or Customs role within a freight forwarding or logistics environment (preferably in an international environment)
CPC license is a requirement of the role (GB)
Experience in direct contacts with Carriers and Customs authorities
Experience in international trade, Inco terms and documentation
Experience with management systems or methods such as Lean Management Six Sigma, Kaizen etc. advantageous
Good MS Office skills (Outlook etc.)
Excellent written and spoken English
