A DRIVING instructor achieved an average of 116.1mpg in a fuel economy run from Land's End to John o'Groat's in a Toyota Yaris 1.4 D-4D.

John Gough, of Gloucester, travelled the 881.8 miles using 7.59 gallons of fuel and costing less than £26 for the whole journey. He will take on another fuel economy challenge on September 15, trying to achieve the most miles on a litre and a gallon of fuel.
