Thomas Pfalzgraf, director, international key accounts, said: 'The weight saving is very important. An operator that uses van racking systems will typically carry tools and components and usually needs every gram of available payload, so our new system will help avoid overloads.'

Sortimo has spent 18 months developing its new system and believes it is the only one to fully crash-test van racking systems. Pfalzgraf thinks that safety issues will prove more and more important as employers become more conscious of liability issues. Sortimo says it plans to launch the Globelyst system in the UK later this year.
