JAGUAR'S revised S-type is now on sale with a modest price increase over the outgoing model.

The range now starts at £25,770 on-the-road for the 2.5 V6 instead of £25,663 for the version it replaces. S versions of the 2.6 V6 are priced at £28,170 OTR with a £1,600 increase for Sport and SE versions.

The 3.0-litre Sport and SE models are priced at £32,270 OTR, while the 4.2 SE is £37,170 with the Sport costing an extra £1,100. The range-topping supercharged S-type R is priced at £49,995 OTR.

Diesel versions, equipped with a twin-turbo 2.7 common rail diesel engine, featured in last week's Fleet News, start at £27,670.

The S-type has undergone design changes inside and out, as well as quality improvements and customers are now offered a wider choice of colours and trims, the option of adaptive cruise control.
