FLEETS crossing the continent have been warned to keep within the speed limits or risk hefty penalties and even court cases.

The RAC Foundation claims that during the Easter weekend, 110 UK motorists were caught and fined for speeding on the A26 south of Calais.

Seven were bailed to appear in court after being arrested for drink-driving.

Edmund King, executive director at the RAC Foundation, said: 'Motorists should be aware that being on holiday does not give them the freedom to drive dangerously.'
