Volvo is expanding its FlexiFuel bioethanol range with two new engines for the V70 and S80 models.
The 2.0F produces 145bhp and returns average economy of 24.4mpg in the V70 and 25.0 in the S80.
The 2.5F turbocharged five-cylinder unit offers 200bhp, although no economy figures are available yet.
Both engines run on 85% bioethanol, offering CO2 emission reductions of up to 80% compared with a regular petrol engine.
The engines join the 125bhp 1.8F unit which is fitted to the C30, S40 and V50 models.
