Describe your fleet
We have 15 vans – mostly a mix of Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagens, 15 user-chooser cars and a handful of site vehicles.

How did you get into the fleet industry?
The company is a prestigious local firm – and when I applied for and got the role of accountant with Ponsford the fleet role came with it.

What is your favourite aspect of the job?
I like dealing with our drivers on a daily basis – reminding them of checks, etc – it’s the more human aspect of the role.

Least favourite?
Dealing with fines and checking who was driving – especially those concerning our van drivers – and keeping fuel costs down.

Would you recommend a career in fleet?
Yes – it gives you plenty of different issues to think about and definitely keeps you occupied.

How do you relax at weekends?
I have three children who keep me busy – we like going cycling together at weekends – and I’m a big Sheffield United fan.
