Total Foodservice Solutions has introduced a vehicle tracking system for its fleet, which includes specialist combination chilled and frozen food delivery trucks and field sales representatives’ cars.

The introduction of the Masternaut Three X system followed SAFED training programme across all drivers.

As a result, the company has seen a has 10% drop in annual fuel costs.

The web-based Masternaut system provides real-time information to assist managers with speeding, idling and route deviations.

“The Masternaut system has made a big difference to our entire fleet. Because we get a real-time view of the fleet, we are able to work with our drivers to encourage them to conform to speed limits," said Paul Nowell, operations manager.

"This not only makes them safer drivers safer it has also reduced our annual fuel bill by 10 per cent."

Improved route planning is another benefit, added Nowell.

“We make over 1,500 deliveries per week and the system enables us to meet our on-time delivery promises."
