Renault has announced its cleanest production car yet with the new dCi 86-powered Clio, emitting just 98g/km.

Set to be available in three and five-door guise, the new versions offer better fuel consumption with a claimed 76.3mpg on the combined cycle - an increase of 12.1mpg and a theoretical range of 923 miles between fill-ups.

Improved performance has been achieved through a series of improvements to the Clio’s aerodynamics, engine and tyres.

The Clio dCi 86 Renault eco² will be unveiled tomorrow (Wednesday, January 13) at the Brussels Motor Show, Belgium.
