Visitors to this year’s Company Car in Action event will be able to drive three vehicles from Toyota for the first time – the Auris Touring Sports, new RAV 4 and light commercial vehicle the Proace.

The three firsts form part of the line-up for Toyota and sister brand Lexus, which, between them, will provide 20 vehicles to test drive at the industry’s biggest event from Fleet News where vehicle manufacturers demonstrate their latest products to more than around 1,000 key company car decision-makers at the Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire from 11-12 June.

The British-built Auris Touring Sports, which starts at £15,595, includes the Auris Hybrid Touring Sports Icon priced from £21,095, with reduced CO2 emissions from June at 84g/km.

With CO2 emissions from a new low of 127g/km – band D for road tax (VED) and a zero road tax charge in the first year of ownership – for the new 2.0-litre D-4D diesel, the fourth generation RAV4 is priced from £22,595 on-the-road.

As part of its drive to increase its presence in the medium duty van market, Toyota’s Proace will be available to drive for the first time in the UK. Due to be launched later this year, the Proace, which will be available in two lengths and heights, with load capacities of 5m3, 6m3 or 7m3 and can be specified as a panel van, glass van, or six-seat crew cab, has been developed in a new collaboration with PSA Peugeot Citroën as a replacement for the Toyota Hiace.

Together, Toyota and Lexus offers fleet managers the widest range of hybrid vehicles. The Prius
Plug-in was the best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle for 2012 in the UK contributing to Toyota’s strong hybrid sales result last year which saw sales of 12,840 hybrid vehicles, an increase of 15.2 per cent compared to 2011.

In 2012, the hybrid range expanded from two to five vehicles: Yaris Hybrid, 7-seat Prius+ and Prius Plug-in were added to the existing Prius and Auris Hybrid. New Auris Hybrid, launched in December, is the latest model to feature a full hybrid powertrain, returning fuel economy of 76.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 87g/km.

Following its popularity last year, Toyota will also be bringing the sports coupe GT86 to CCIA.
