A new minibus supplied by Motiva Group has been delivered to a military charity after being specially adapted to carry wounded troops.

The fleet specialists handed over a batch of 16 vehicles to Help for Heroes earlier this summer. But the delivery included a Vauxhall Vivaro minibus which required a specialised conversion for passengers in wheelchairs or whose movement is limited.

The work was carried out by O&H Vehicle Conversions, based in Goole in Yorkshire, and the vehicle has now joined the rest of the fleet based at the charity’s Tedworth House Recovery Centre in Wiltshire.

Help for Heroes, which supports UK Servicemen and women wounded in the line of duty, wanted the minibus to look as much like a standard vehicle as possible.

So it now features a manual ‘bi-fold’ wheelchair ramp which can be pulled out once the rear tailgate is opened, while the interior has been trimmed in Help for Heroes colours, including custom-made seats featuring embroidered logos.

Steve Shaw, O&H Vehicle Conversions commercial director, said: “We’re very proud to have been involved in supporting such an important charity and pleased that our work is helping injured troops in their recovery.”

Motiva Group also supplied 10 Astra Sports Tourers, two Corsas, a Zafira, an Antara and an Astra hatchback to the charity.

Peter Wright, sales and marketing director at Motiva Group, based in Stoke-on-Trent, said: “It’s great to help an organisation which provides such a great service to our Armed Forces and veterans.

“Help for Heroes provides a national network of support to soldiers, sailors and airmen who suffer life-changing injuries or illness in the line of duty and we’re delighted to able to play a small part in helping such a highly-regarded charity carry out its work.”
