Epyx has created a new account management team to support investment in its 1link Disposal Network e-commerce platform.

There are two new internal account managers and two external account managers, as well as changes in product development and product support departments.

Ian McFarlane and Tom Wakeman form the new internal account management team. McFarlane has more than seven years of account management experience with various companies while Wakeman's previous work experience is in the business development area of the construction industry, having previously built up two companies in the sector.

Laura Byrom and Tim Allen are the new external account managers and will be taking care of fleet and manufacturer relationships. Byrom has worked at Epyx for more four years with experience in cross-platform account management while Allen's background is in vehicle rental and remarketing at Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Vertu Motors.

Elsewhere, Mark Dady has moved within Epyx to work in product development while, in product support, Mark Davis has been appointed as product specialist supporting inbound technical queries.

David Goodyear, head of business development, said: “1link Disposal Network has been identified as one of the key potential growth areas within Epyx and major investment is underway.

“The new account management structure is designed to create a greater dialogue with all users of the platform. The fleet and motor industries are very much about personal relationships and there are some vendors and buyers who will always be more comfortable about speaking with a person.

“Our team of account managers will provide this. They will supplement the technology in the platform, which has been developed over the course of a decade, with the kind of interactions that can only come from one person speaking with another. It simply adds an extra layer of accessibility.”

Launched in 2007, 1link Disposal Network is used by major fleets to manage online the selling of defleet stock to traders and dealers through a wide variety of channels including online and auctions.
