BP Chargemaster showcases 150kW ultra-fast EV charger

BP Chargemaster

BP Chargemaster has unveiled its new 150kW ultra-fast charger at the Fully Charged Live event at Silverstone.

The Ultracharge 150 is the first 150kW ultra-fast charger ever made in the UK and can deliver 100 miles of range in 10 minutes.

It will soon start to appear across Polar, the UK’s largest public charging network.

There will also be 400 units installed on BP forecourts by the end of 2021.

The Ultracharge 150 features both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, and an easy-to-use interface. The units will be accessible to both pay-as-you-go and subscription customers.

BP Chargemaster will also continue with its nationwide rollout programme for 50kW rapid chargers, which also offer 43kW AC rapid charging.

David Martell, chief executive of BP Chargemaster, said: “We are very proud to be bringing this new 150kW ultra-fast charger to market, which will be available on the Polar network within the coming months. We shifted consumer expectations for rapid charging with the introduction of our 50kW Ultracharge unit and we are confident that the Ultracharge 150 unit will do the same for 150kW ultra-fast charging.”

The ultra-fast chargers will be installed with investment from BP Chargemaster, which operates more than 400 rapid chargers and a total of more than 7,000 charging points available for EV drivers nationwide.
