Tusker has secured the contract to provide its car salary sacrifice scheme for National Grid employees, following a rigorous tender process.

National Grid, which is one of Tusker’s most successful schemes, is available to 10,000 employees through an on-line flexible benefits portal.

It has been renewed for a minimum of four years and forms a crucial part of National Grid’s range of flexible benefits.

Since its inception in 2011, the scheme has proved to be extremely popular, with more than 100 cars ordered within the first 48 hours from launch, and more than 1,500 orders placed to date.

Tusker has also seen 80% of employees choosing to take a new car at the end of their first agreement, which when combined with an average driver satisfaction rate of 97%, suggests the strength of Tusker’s driver-focussed customer service.

An important element of the scheme’s success is its attractive pricing and savings for drivers, however it has also been reported that National Grid employees have willingly embraced Tusker’s unique, free of charge carbon off-setting scheme, offering a range of green projects for drivers to select and ensure that their salary sacrifice car is carbon neutral.

David Hosking, CEO for Tusker, said:  “The renewal of this flagship contract demonstrates National Grid’s belief that we are the best organisation to support their needs.

“We continue to strive for excellence to ensure that National Grid and their employees continue to receive the best possible service.”
