VisionTrack, part of the Markerstudy Group of Companies, has been crowned regional winner for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the Gartner Financial Services Eye on Innovation Awards, held at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2016, Barcelona last week (November 6-10).

The company, which provides combined camera and telematics in-vehicle products, also won the most innovative digital customer service or product category, securing both titles for its use of big data technology to aid safer driving on UK roads.

VisionTrack launched in February 2016 to help improve road safety to benefit the insurance and fleet industries and drivers everywhere. The new venture takes advantage of next generation camera technology and has connected it, in real-time, to a bespoke cloud-based ‘internet of things’  platform, allowing fleet operators to track a vehicle and predict driving patterns.

A lower number of claims from customers and a considerable reduction in fraud has been seen as a result of the technology.
