Orbital Fasteners installs Camera Telematics Street Angel system

Orbital Fasteners has installed Camera Telematics Street Angel vehicle camera across its fleet

Orbital Fasteners has installed Camera Telematics Street Angel vehicle camera across its fleet to protect its drivers from insurance fraud.

The online distributor of fixings, fasteners, tools and power tools to construction sites and factories in and around London, has replaced a tracking system with the camera solution in its vans and cars.

Carl Halsey, transport nanager at Orbital Fasteners said: “Street Angel delivers our business peace of mind as we have deployed the most advanced onboard vehicle camera solution available throughout our fleet of vehicles.

“This ensures that not only are our drivers safe and accountable but that as a business we are best protected from any potential incidents of insurance fraud.”

Street Angel works by using 4G connectivity to continually record video evidence of the journey and the vehicle's surroundings on to the internal memory.

It uses accelerometers to measure g-force to detect any impact or harsh event such as braking or cornering, and when the g-force parameter is breached the device uploads a video clip of the event to the cloud.

This data is accurate and admissible evidence, should it be required to defend or mitigate an insurance claim.
