FOD Mobility Group has announced that its chief executive officer, Joe Howick, has informed the board of his intention to retire from the company at the end of this year.

Howick (pictured) was appointed CEO having previously served as chief commercial officer when he joined the group’s executive board in 2019.

Since his appointment as CEO, he has played a pivotal role in driving the strategic growth of the group’s ground transportation services and technology throughout the UK and Europe.

He retires after 30 years of senior commercial experience in the fleet industry, having contributed to the substantial growth and transformation of several established fleet management firms.

He previously led the successful growth of vehicle management specialist FleetEurope as chief operating officer prior to its acquisition by FOD Mobility Group in August 2019

Before joining FleetEurope, he also held senior leadership roles at Zenith and formerly Leasedrive Group.

He said: “After three rewarding decades in the industry, I’ve decided that the end of this year is the right time for me to step back and focus on the next chapter.

“It has been a privilege to lead the team at FOD Mobility Group and be a part of its continued success over the last six years.

“I’ve enjoyed working alongside talented colleagues and forging strong relationships and lasting friendships with our customers, partners and suppliers.

“I’m leaving the business in great shape, and with a strong leadership team in place, I know it has a fantastic future ahead of it.”

Howick remains an investor in the business and will continue in his role as CEO until the end of this year.

He will be working closely with the board of directors and private equity investor BGF to appoint his successor, ensuring a smooth and effective leadership transition before his departure.
