Kia UK has announced a network of sales and aftersales locations ahead of deliveries starting later this year of its first fully electric van, the PV5.

Its new commercial fleet focused Professional Business Vans (PBV) network is being built from the ground up to meet the needs of operators and drivers.

Kia PBV centres are planned to be fully operational by late 2025 – coinciding with the first UK deliveries of the PV5, which will be available to view at Company Car in Action (CCIA) on June 11 and 12

Kia said its commercial partners have been selected for their expertise and ability to best serve commercial vehicle customers, with many already supporting Kia’s own fleet and business customers or serving commercial vehicle customers at multi-brand commercial vehicle sites.

Every PBV centre, it added, will be equipped with its own dedicated facilities and specialist resources to support customers quickly and efficiently.

This includes a sales area with display units, a service reception, dedicated workshop with high-capacity vehicle ramps, specialist Kia equipment and tools, and a supporting team of staff including sales, dedicated technicians and a service advisor.

Paul Philpott, president and CEO of Kia UK, said: “The new PBV centre network will be built on the back of our successful partnership with our dealer network and the vast majority of our new PBV centres will be managed by an existing partner.

“The new network will be formed of a combination of standalone facilities; linked to multi-brand van centres; or at existing Kia locations.

“We will capitalise on our fleet and business expertise within our network, and are looking to operate very much under the same franchise principals we employ across our car business that have earned praise from our partners and customers alike.”

Two existing Kia dealerships - sites belonging to Wessex Garages in Cardiff and Bristol - are among those chosen to be part of the new commercial vehicle network.

Andy Provis fleet director at Wessex Garages, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be part of Kia’s exciting new chapter.

“Becoming a PBV centre allows us to further strengthen our commercial offering and support customers who are looking for advanced, sustainable mobility solutions for their businesses.”

Kia’s first fully electric commercial vehicle, the PV5, will exclusively be available from PBV centres. This includes the passenger version.

Sales for the PV5 began on May 1, during its UK debut at the CV Show, when UK pricing and specifications were first announced.

Kia is targeting a 5% share of the van market by 2030, equating to around 17,500 units at today’s levels, as it embarks upon the introduction of its first light commercial vehicles in the UK.

Three full electric models will be launched over the next four years starting with the compact PV5, with orders now open for delivery in Q4. Kia is forecasting registrations of 3,000 to 4,000 in the PV5’s first full year (2026).

The mid-size PV7 is scheduled for 2027 with the large PV9 due in 2029. The small PV3 and last mile delivery PV1 micro van are not currently in the plan, according to Kia UK executives.
