Delegates to this year’s Fleet & Mobility Live will gain access to a range of presentations from peers in the industry on just how they’re tackling the challenge of electrification.

Transitioning car and commercial fleets to zero emissions is one of the biggest challenges facing the industry and so the event has its own dedicated EV Theatre to share the latest thinking and experiences so far from fleets like British Gas, DPD, Euro Car Parts, ISS, Ocado, UPS, Dundee City Council, Nottingham City Council and the London Borough of Islington.

Fleet decision-makers expect electric to be the dominant powertrain within three years, according to research from the latest Arval Mobility Observatory Barometer.

Just half (50%) of vans and a little over a quarter (28%) of UK company cars are predicted to be petrol or diesel power alone by 2025, it says.

The two day event will kick off in just under two months’ time on October 11 and 12 at the NEC, near Birmingham at Hall 20.

Registration for Fleet & Mobility Live is open and tickets for the two-day event are free to fleet decision makers.

EV plugged in

The EV Theatre will feature seven dedicated electrification sessions across the two days (full details on topics below) and is just one of three dedicated theatre areas that delegates get access to.

These include the Fleet & Mobility Theatre, which tackles fleet fundamental topics like safety, upskilling, compliance and the future of the industry, as well as the Benefits Box, which covers topics like salary sacrifice and risk and insurance.

This is a strictly “no sales pitch” event and the majority of presentations will come from fleet managers doing the job that have made good progress with innovative initiatives or who just want to help by sharing their journey so far with the wider fleet community.

In addition to the seminar sessions, delegates will be able to roam the Hall 20 show floor to gain access to a host of suppliers under one roof, including electric vehicle innovations from car and van manufacturers, leasing and fleet services companies.

Steve Briers, Fleet News editor-in-chief, said: “Electrification is one of the major topics facing all fleets as the UK heads towards a zero emissions transport future.

“Fleets of all sizes will be sharing their journey so far on topics like charging infrastructure and the operational challenges of switching commercial fleets to EV.

“Some of these fleets are pioneers and some are just starting out on that journey but want to share their progress so far.

“There are Q&As after every session so it’s a great opportunity for those in attendance to ask for advice and to boost further collaboration in the industry between peers.”

The EV Theatre topics:

  • Charging infrastructure – cradle to grave solutions
  • EV total cost of ownership
  • Maintaining and repairing electric vehicles
  • Electrification of business-critical vehicles: vans and trucks (on Oct 11 and 12)
