Leasing Options is the latest member to join the BVRLA leasing broker committee

The leasing company had been members of the BVRLA for several years and part of its leasing broker committee, however it said it "stepped back to allow the wider community to engage in its work".

Leasing Options said it accepted the invitation to sit on the committee, with chief operating officer, Mike Thompson, representing the Leasing Options senior management team, at the request of the current leasing broker committee.

Mike Thompson, chief operating officer of Leasing Options, said: “We’re very proud to be asked to re-join and support the broker industry by helping drive discussion and best practice through the industry.

“We intend to represent all members as we have small businesses within our business as AR's, as well as our main Leasing Options business. This, we hope, will ensure we can give a strong and balanced view and voice.

“We want to share our expert knowledge and insight to provide the right information for the BVRLA to lobby relevant government bodies and organisations to the benefit of all BVRLA members.

“The BVRLA is highly respected and represents almost 1,000 companies across the industry so to be welcomed as a positive influence to help drive the industry is of great pride to the Leasing Options team.”

Demand for electric vehicles (EVs) from company car drivers is helping the leasing sector return to growth following the initial impact of the pandemic, according to the latest figures from the BVRLA.

The BVRLA represents over 970 companies engaged in vehicle rental, leasing and fleet management and works with policymakers, public sector agencies, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

Shashi Maharaj, legal and membership director of the BVRLA, said: “We are delighted to have Leasing Options back within our Leasing Broker Committee, bringing the views of another established and trusted business to the table.

“Mike has a positive, creative and forward-thinking mentality aligned with great industry insight and knowledge thanks to his position at Leasing Options.

“We are sure with his experience dealing at a high level with funders, lease companies and manufacturers from within our industry, he can be an asset to the BVRLA and its members and move the industry forward.”
