Venson strengthens public sector team

Venson Automotive Solutions has strengthened its public sector team with the appointment of Karen Newport as account manager.

Newport has worked in the local government fleet industry for more than 20 years, having spent nearly 10 years as head of fleet service at the London Borough of Enfield, where she was responsible for managing a fleet of more than 300 vehicles, ensuring compliance regulations were met, as well as holding the council’s operator’s licence.

She has also played an instrumental role in tendering for large contracts, including vehicle hire, vehicle procurement and fleet maintenance.

More recently Newport held the position of regional fleet manager at Veolia Environmental Services.

Samantha Roff, managing director for Venson Automotive Solutions, said: “Our public sector fleet offering is an influential part of our business and growth strategy. We are therefore delighted to bring Karen on board to further strengthen our local government team and benefit from her invaluable knowledge of this sector.

"Karen has a strong track record of securing new business and has demonstrated a clear focus on delivering high levels of customer service, reflecting our own customer first ethos at Venson.”
